One of the special opportunities that always draws me out of the woods is teaching and offering private sessions at New Renaissance Bookstore in Portland, Oregon. I’ve been teaching there for 13 years so no wonder it feels like a second home to me. The staff is warm and helpful and the shelves are packed with awesome books and products.
So … this weekend I’m especially looking forward to my Friday Night Forum presentation “The Sacred Journey of Your Soul – through the Major Arcana of the Tarot.” It is my first time to offer this profound presentation at NRB.
Most people, even some who know the basics about Tarot, do not know the powerful story that runs through the 22 major arcana cards of the deck. Joseph Campbell would say it represents the “Hero’s Journey,” sometimes called the “Fool’s Journey,” in Tarot. The fool’s journey depicts the archetypal journey we experience in life with all its ups and downs, ins and outs, duality and unity.
If you have ever been curious about the hidden power of Tarot to accurately reflect where you are in your life and your deepest potential, come join this lively talk. No Tarot knowledge is necessary and everyone is welcome!
** If time permits, we will begin to look at the connections between the galactic “Mayan” calendar and the Tarot … the greater journey we are all on together as we approach 2012.
